HAGANE gears are manufactured using cold forging technology without the need for additional machining. This technique has been specially designed by Shimano, thus achieving exceptional smoothness and lightness that enhances the heart of the reel, so this implies better smoothness and durability.
With the features of XSHIP much greater stability and efficiency is achieved. Being a combination of features that work together placing the pinion near the center line of the gear gives a large diameter impeller, this way more power is transferred from the crank to the rotor, on the other hand the pinion is supported by two Shimano ARB roller bearings creating greater stability.
Produced from high rigidity aluminum or magnesium. The Hagane body has been studied to create rigidity and impact resistance, in this way it is possible to eliminate the flexing of the body, resulting in a solid structure of great support in the mobile internal gear, achieving greater efficiency throughout the reel.
Shimano has designed a new construction called Infinity Drive that eliminates slip resistance, thus achieving more light winding under loaded or unloaded conditions. The new Infinity Drive is the first non-contact construction where the inside of the sprocket does not touch the main shaft of the reel. In this way, a reduction in sliding resistance is achieved through the application of a low-friction bushing that holds the main shaft. With this system it has been possible to reduce the rotational torque on the crank by 30% compared to the conventional X-SHIP.
With the Silent Drive system there is a great improvement in smooth recovery, eliminating the sound of "Click" and crank play.
With the X Protect system, exceptional resistance to water ingress is achieved, in this way it resists shocks, splashes and wave spray.

With this technology, the reel is aligned parallel to the rod, reducing the line that touches the rod, which leads to an increase in the casting distance.
The new Ci4+ is an improved version of the CI4. Being the CI4+ 2.5 times more rigid than its previous version. Using this version for the reel body and rotor provides a very noticeable improvement in reel efficiency.
The new high speed brakes are a great feature of the Shimano reels. With a little twist of the plug it can be set to a "free mode" or "combat mode" position.
The long stroke replacement spool has a longer stroke compared to conventional spool designs. This longer stroke specification results in a longer launch distance.
Shimano Original ARC spools are designed with an angled lip to allow the line to exit the spool with less friction, allowing for longer and more accurate casts. This original type of spool reduces kickback and wind knots when using braided line.
This feature provides a super slow oscillation which causes the spool to move very slowly forming almost parallel line loops.
Shimano uses highly corrosion resistant S ARB ball bearings with an extra shield to improve protection against sand, salt and dust.
